Destiny 2 Season Of The Chosen: Guía de desafíos de temporada (semana 9)

by 4players

Challenges can only be completed once per account, and there’s no process for obtaining them–when they’re released each week, they’ll be directly added to your challenges system. Other bounties do still exist and will need to be claimed as usual, but don’t forget the Destiny app now allows these to be claimed while in orbit. You don’t need the season pass in order to do seasonal challenges, but some (around 40% by Bungie’s estimate) will require you to have access to season-specific content.

    Season Of The Chosen Challenges

    Week 1

    • Contender’s Ascent
      • Challenger’s Proving quest completed
      • Cabal defeats with rocket launcher (75)
    • Golden Reaper
      • Acquire Cabal Gold (100)
    • Crash and Converge
      • Tribute Chests smashed (5)
      • Engrams focused (5)
    • Lenses in Focus
      • Lenses unlocked
    • Challenger’s Aspiration
      • Weekly playlist challenges completed (3)

    • Hail of Bullets
      • Calibrate kinetic weapons on Europa
    • Dredgin’ Up Victory
      • Complete Gambit matches
    • Flourish of Power
      • Defeat Guardians in Mayhem with Supers (50)
    • Dominance Operandi: Fallen
      • Defeat Fallen combatants in Strikes

Week 1’s challenges are reasonably straightforward. Advancing through the new seasonal content will get you on the right track with a number of objectives, such as setting you up to complete the Challenger’s Proving quest. That involves obtaining the Hammer of Proving and then socketing it with a Challenger Medallion, which is done by obtaining Cabal Gold (another Week 1 challenge). Other tasks will simply involve making sure you pay attention to what you’re doing, like playing Mayhem and killing other players with your Super or using kinetic weapons on Europa.

    Week 2

    • Contender’s Ascent II
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving II quest.
    • Golden Reaper
      • Acquire Cabal Gold (200)
    • Crash and Converge
      • Tribute Chests smashed (10)
      • Engrams focused (10)
    • The Bigger They Are…
      • Defeat Cabal Elites or Bosses anywhere in the system (60)
    • Trials of the Tinker
      • Unlock Seasonal Artifact mods (12)
    • Chosen Cosmonaut
      • In the Cosmodrome, earn progress points by completing public events, bounties, patrols, and Lost Sectors.
      • Complete Cosmodrome bounties (10)
    • Expose to the Elements
      • Calibrate Elemental weapons in the Cosmodrome
    • Drifter’s Chosen
      • Earn points by banking motes, defeating Blockers, and defeating Invaders in Gambit (250)
    • Entertain Lord Shaxx
      • Complete matches in the Showdown Crucible playlist. Bonus progress for wins.
    • Dominance Operandi: Cabal
      • Defeat Cabal bosses in Strikes (5)

You’ll put a lot of your focus on your Week 2 challenges in the Cosmodrome. Despite the arrival of the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic scout rifle and the new Presage mission, neither is necessary to complete this week’s challenges (although they do hide secrets all their own). This week’s challenges are mostly about continued progress–drop by the H.E.L.M. for a new weekly quest that takes you to a new Battleground and keep beating back the Cabal to earn gold and smash Tribute chests. It’s worth noting that all your progress from last week carries over to this week, so challenges that double the requirements from their previous iterations–like Crash and Converge or Golden Reaper–don’t require double the work. If you earned 100 Cabal Gold last week, you’ll be halfway to the 200 Cabal Gold you need for this week, in other words. And if you earned more Cabal Gold than you needed for last week’s challenge, it’ll already be counted on this week’s version.

    Week 3

    • Contender’s Ascent III
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving III quest.
    • Golden Reaper
      • Acquire Cabal Gold (300)
    • Crash and Converge
      • Tribute Chests Smashed (15)
      • Focus a Tier 3 Umbral Engram (requires five Hammer of Proving charges)
    • Captain’s Log
      • Leave no stone unturned aboard the Glykon (use our Destiny 2 Presage Secrets guide to find all the scannables aboard the Glykon)
    • Failsafe Forward
      • On Nessus, earn progress points by completing public events, bounties, patrols, and Lost Sectors.
      • Complete Nessus bounties (10)
    • Challenger’s Apogee
      • Earn Prime, Powerful, and Pinnacle Engrams to increase your overall Power level to 1300.
    • Algorithmic Precision
      • Calibrate weapons on Nessus by landing precision kills.
    • Primeval Entourage
      • Defeat Taken in Gambit. Earn more progress for defeating tougher Taken enemies.
    • Iron Sharpens Iron
      • Complete Iron Banner matches, earning bonus progress for wins.
    • Challenge Our Foes
      • Complete 5 Playlist Strikes.

Week 3’s challenges mostly continue to expand on your past H.E.L.M. feats, while sending you to Nessus rather than the Cosmodrome this week. As with last week, many of these challenges will count progress you made in the past, so while you need to earn 300 Cabal Gold this week, that’s added to the 200 Gold requirement from last week. Probably the most notable challenge this week is Captain’s Log, which sends you back to the Presage Exotic mission. There are more secrets to uncover aboard the ship than just Dead Man’s Tale, with this week’s feat focused on uncovering the story found within the derelict ship. There are five scannable objects to find aboard the Glykon, and unlocking all of them will clear the challenge.

    Week 4

    • Contender’s Ascent IV
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving IV quest.
      • Defeat Cabal with sniper rifles after completing Challenger’s Proving IV.
    • Golden Reaper
      • Acquire Cabal Gold (400)
    • Intruder Alert
      • Don’t allow enemies to interrupt Ghost in two Battleground missions.
    • Explosive Entrance
      • Defeat 10 Champions in Battlegrounds.
      • Get 40 grenade kills in Battlegrounds.
    • Contender’s Delve
      • Complete a Lost Sector at Legend difficulty or higher.
    • Challenger’s Cypher
      • Decrypt 5 Prime Engrams.
    • Sling The Stone…
      • Stagger, pierce, or disrupt 30 Champions.
    • High-Value Hunter
      • Defeat powerful combatants in Gambit, with bonus progress for defeating High-Value Targets.
    • Cadre Of Contenders
      • Complete Crucible matches in the Competitive playlist.
    • Vanguard’s Chosen
      • Complete 3 Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes at Hero difficulty or higher.

While Week 4’s challenges continue the overall seasonal thread of rewarding you for competing in Battlegrounds and acquiring Cabal Gold, it also incentivizes you to dive into some tougher content this week. Legendary Lost Sectors are great for finding Exotics, so it’s worth checking them each day to see which ones will drop rewards you need (there’s a new batch of Exotic chest armor this season, with one new piece for each character class). There’s no new Seasonal Challenge for taking on the Presage mission, but you can unlock an Exotic Ghost shell if you venture into it and find all the scannable lore items there.

    Week 5

    • Contender’s Ascent V
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving V quest.
    • Golden Reaper
      • Acquire Cabal Gold (500).
    • Golden Scrawl
      • Open three hidden caches in the Presage mission, using the notes left in the Captain’s Log lore book.
    • Lenses In Focus
      • Unlock 5 lenses for the Prismatic Recaster.
    • Apex Armorer
      • Masterwork a piece of armor.
    • Salvager’s Salvo Armament
      • Acquire Salvager’s Salvo.
    • In It For The Infamy
      • Earn five Infamy ranks in Gambit.
    • Ultimate Champion
      • Defeat Champions in Nightfall: The Ordeal Strikes, with bonus progress for those killed in higher-difficulty activities.

This week has two fewer Seasonal Challenges than the four weeks that have come before it. That might mean nothing, or it might mean there are more challenges to be revealed as this week’s portion of the story unfolds. In any event, this week is a good opportunity to catch up on Presage, finally earn that Salvager’s Salvo grenade launcher, and jump into Gambit. For Presage, you’ll need to unlock hidden caches scattered throughout the Glykon–it’s tied to the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic catalyst, so check out our guide for more info on how to find them. If you haven’t been working on Gambit much this season, you’ll have backlogged several Seasonal Challenges for the mode. The latest requires you to raise your Infamy rank–and since you’ll earn bonus Infamy in the mode this week, it’s a good opportunity to knock out all of them.

    Week 6

    • Contender’s Ascent VI
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving VI quest.
      • Get 60 bow kills in Battlegrounds.
    • Small-Caliber Contender
      • Defeat combatants with SMGs. You get the most efficient progress in Battlegrounds.
    • Nightfall Variety Attack
      • Defeat 80 combatants in Nightfalls using SMGs, rocket launchers, bows, or sniper rifles.
    • Cabal Contenders
      • Defeat 65 Cabal elites or bosses in Battlegrounds.
    • Once Chosen, Now Fallen
      • Defeat Fallen enemies anywhere in the solar system, with bonus progress for precision kills.
    • Kill Them With Style
      • Earn the Pyretic ornament for Salvager’s Salvo. You can get the quest from the Lord Shaxx–it requires you to gain six Valor ranks (including subdivision ranks, so this should go quickly) and to land 30 grenade launcher final blows, with bonus progress for multikills. Check out our Salvager’s Salvo guide for more tips on how to quickly unlock the ornament.
    • Conquest of the Mighty
      • Complete a Nightfall: The Ordeal Strike on Grandmaster difficulty. You’ll need to be at least 1325 to access the Grandmaster playlist.

The challenges for Week 6 are generally pretty straightforward, requiring you to just play activities you probably would otherwise and use certain weapons. You can get double progress with SMGs if you carry one into a Nightfall Strike, and if you’re tough enough to clear one of the new Grandmaster Nightfalls, you can make progress on three different challenges simultaneously. The tougher challenges are Conquest of the Mighty and Kill Them With Style–you’ll need to have boosted your power significantly to access Grandmaster Nightfalls (although seasonal challenges can lift your Seasonal Artifact Power level pretty quickly) and unlocking the Pyretic ornament for Salvager’s Salvo is a bit of an involved process.

    Week 7

    • Contender’s Ascent VII
      • Report to the H.E.L.M. War Table and complete the Challenger’s Proving VII quest.
      • Get 100 SMG kills on Cabal enemies.
    • Proving Grounds Trifecta
      • Beat the Proving Grounds Strike (new this week) three times
      • Defeat 150 combatants in the Strike
      • Deposit 2 Power Cores in the undercarriage of the land tank during the Strike
    • Diplomacy or Death
      • Listen to 5 intercepted transmissions at the radio kiosk in the H.E.L.M. You’ll find it beside the Mailbox kiosk.
    • One Against Many
      • Rapidly defeat 3 enemies to calibrate weapons. Grenade launchers like Salvager’s Salvo are particularly handy for this one.
    • Gambit Salvager’s Salvo
      • Earn the Toxicology ornament for Salvager’s Salvo. Check out our Salvager’s Salvo guide for tips on how to do so quickly.
    • Beyond Legendary
      • Earn 5 Valor ranks. Like the “In It For the Infamy” challenge in Week 5, this refers to the main ranks–Brave, Heroic, Fabled, Mythic, and Legend. The subranks between each main title don’t count.

As the season goes on, we’re seeing fewer challenges but earning bigger rewards for completing them. Most of Week 7’s challenges are pretty easy, and if you’ve been working on aspects for other seasonal challenges, you might have cleared several of them already. The toughest will likely be “Gambit Salvager’s Salvo,” since it requires having both the grenade launcher itself and spending some time playing Gambit matches. It’s a good idea to knock out “Beyond Legendary” this week, as you’ll get a huge boost in Valor points thanks to the Iron Banner event (although you get the bonus regardless of what kind of match you play in the Crucible). The “Proving Grounds Trifecta” challenge mostly just requires you to play the Strike a few times, and “Diplomacy or Death” is only about activating the kiosk in the H.E.L.M. room, so both are pretty simple.

    Week 8

    • Nightfall Proving Grounds
      • Complete the Proving Grounds Strike in the Nightfall: The Ordeal playlist three times.
      • Get 50 linear fusion rifle or sidearm kills in the Nightfall.
    • Legendary Lost Sector Variety Attack
      • Defeat 300 enemies in Legendary Lost Sectors using rocket launchers, bows, sniper rifles, and submachine guns.
    • Lenses in Focus
      • Unlock 10 focusing lenses for the Prismatic Recaster–read the unlocked lenses on the Recaster to find each one’s requirements.
    • Clearing the Inner Circle
      • Kill 40 Primeval Envoys in Gambit matches.
    • Trial by Firing Squad
      • Win 7 total rounds in the Trials of Osiris.
    • Decisive Strike
      • Unlock the Panacea ornament for Salvager’s Salvo. Use our Salvager’s Salvo guide to earn it quickly.

With the story of the season wrapped up with the Proving Grounds Strike last week, Week 8’s seasonal challenges are fairly generic–but also encourage you to take on some tougher challenges. The most notable one is the “Trial by Firing Squad” challenge, which requires you to form a fireteam and take on the weekend’s Trials of Osiris challenge in the Crucible. Trials is extremely tough, but also dispenses some of the best weapons in the game. Completing the challenge, which only requires winning seven total Trials rounds (not full matches), also dispenses a Trials weapon, so it’s worth knocking this one out even if you don’t expect to get very far in Trials generally. The rest of the challenges are pretty simple and can help you earn new weapons, like “Nightfall Proving Grounds.” This week has double rewards in Nightfall: The Ordeal, so it’s knocking out that challenge can also earn you new guns like the Palindrome.

    Week 9

    • Convex Convergence
      • Focus Tier 3 Umbral Engrams
    • Suited For Combat
      • Defeat 400 combatants anywhere in the solar system wearing a complete set of armor. Guardians count for additional progress
    • Dire Portents
      • Complete the Presage Exotic mission three times on either Normal or Master difficulty. Check out our Presage guide for more information.
    • …And The Giants Fell
      • Stagger, pierce, or disrupt 50 Champions
    • Feels Good To Be Bad
      • Defeat Guardians in Gambit. Bonus progress for defeating them as an Invader.

We’re in mop-up mode for the Season of the Chosen, so this week’s challenges are pretty straightforward. You’ll likely have already earned “Convex Convergence” if you’ve been messing around with Umbral Engrams this season. The “Suited for Combat” challenge is retroactive, but our testing suggests you’ll only make progress with the current seasonal armor set, the Praefectus set. This week sees double Infamy gains in Gambit, so it’s a good opportunity to jump back in and take down Guardians for the “Feels Good To Be Bad” challenge (and any other Gambit challenges you might have left). You’ll have to hit up Presage three times in order to complete “Dire Portents,” even if you’ve been playing the mission all season, but it’s also a good chance for additional Pinnacle drops and to complete the Dead Man’s Tale Exotic catalyst.

    Week 10

    • …The Harder They Fall
      • Defeat Elite Cabal enemies in the Proving Grounds Strike
    • Explosive Conclusions
      • Defeat enemies anywhere in the solar system with rocket launchers and grenades. You get bonus progress for rapid defeats and for defeating Cabal enemies
    • Lenses In Focus
      • Unlock 15 Prismatic Recaster lenses. You can learn how by reading the descriptions on the Recaster’s focusing icons–they’re mostly earned either by opening Cabal chests in the Battlegrounds activity, or by racking up kills with certain weapons.
